The Islands of Loreto: In Photos

Last week I was lucky enough to visit the Islands of Loreto in Baja, Mexico. Nestled on the Sea of Cortez, this quiet and pristine part of Mexico is the perfect place to go for a relaxing trip in the sun. I was pampered at the Villa del Palmar Beach Resort and Spa, got to go on tours around the historical town of Loreto and took a boat out to see some of the wildlife and islands in the area.

Here is the view from my balcony:

This is what breakfast looks like at the Villa del Palmar Resort:

The Sea of Cortez at noon:

Cacti in the Giganta Sierra Mountain Range:

The San Javier Jesuit Mission:

Outside the Mission:

A 1,000 Year Old Olive Tree:

Quirky Shopping in Loreto:

Lots of Wildlife:

Beautiful rock formations along the Sea of Cortez:

White sand and turqoise water on the Island of Coronado:

This about sums up the trip:

If you’re interested in going to visit the Islands of Loreto, the Villa del Palmar has a special promotion going on through May 19 – mention this blog post when calling the Villa del Palmar Beach Resort and Spa and you will receive free airfare for two flying in and out of LAX. This promotion is based on availability, but what a deal right?! It’s a two hour flight, and this area of the country is full of warm and inviting people, beautiful beaches and a truly relaxing way of life. Happy travels!
