Hyatt House Puerto Rico: A Great Option for Families & Solo Travelers

0

I’ve just returned from a fantastic few days in Puerto Rico, celebrating the opening of the Hyatt House in San Juan, a 126-room property that is the island’s first extended stay property.

Hyatt House is essentially a mixture of staying in a hotel, and being at home. Each room features a kitchen that includes a fridge, a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker, utensils and basically everything else you need, short of an in-room oven. It’s like you’re home—except you also get to use the resort pool and workout room.

Rooms are also composed of different living areas: kitchen, bedroom, living room, etc.

I love this cute little kitchen!

For families traveling with kids, it’s a great option, but for budget travelers looking to shave a few dollars off the cost of eating out while abroad, properties like this are also incredibly helpful.

Room rates run between $130-150, which is awesome if you’re hoping to pinch some pennies in an otherwise pricy hotel destination.

Another cool feature? A TV that divides the living/ bedroom spaces, that spins 360 so that you can watch it from the couch, or from bed.

Which room would you like to watch TV in?? Yep, that’s a bed on the other side of this.

I also loved how things were really well divided, so that it felt like a much larger room with separate spaces. The living room was plush and comfortable, and made for a great place for this blogger to get some work done!

Like home! But.. in Puerto Rico!

I love Puerto Rico, and I love places that help me save money while traveling, so I’m all about Hyatt House in San Juan. The downside to this property? It’s not beachside. Luckily, the nearest beach is only about a 10 minute walk (which I made, several times). The Condado Beach area is only about a 20 minute walk. All in all, I would highly recommend it as an accommodation option to long-term, family, solo or budget travelers.

Have you ever stayed at a Hyatt House property? Would you?
