Your Guide to a Hip Travel PlayList

Travel 14 hours by bus or plane and you will understand the dire need for a kick-ass playlist to ease the pain of hours that pass by sluggishly while waiting anxiously to reach your destination.

A good playlist will keep your mind occupied through monotonous travel time. A killer playlist is like putting on a good film in your mind, allowing time for daydreaming, musing and introspection. There’s nothing like cruising down the western coast of Mexico while jamming out to some urban reggaetone; because lets be honest, a good playlist is like adding a soundtrack to your travels – and although everyone has their individual tastes in music I have compiled a fresh, lively yet chill and distinguished mix of mood invoking music.

The Travelers Playlist:

Passion Pit – Sleepy Head

This indie electro-pop band delivers cheeky beats with an uplifting mix of ornate tunes and an enthusiastic tempo throughout. It’s chill yet gradual build up to a seriously catchy electronic riff will have you hitting the replay button over and over again.

Massive Attack – Teardrop

This song made my playlist before it was made famous by the abrasively entertaining show ‘House’. Its semi-ominous tempo makes room for some serious mind tripping and introspection. Add it to your playlist when you have time to close your eyes and reflect upon your experiences.

Robin-Bullock Rigler’s March- Rex’z Rambles

Bringing the fiddle, mandolin and guitar in a multi-instrumental up-beat song that will have you humming through the countryside. Blast this Celtic medley when you’re traveling by train, bus or by car while adding a slight twang of folk country to your site-seeing soundtrack.

Lumniescent Orchestrii- Amari Szi, Amari

From the worldly soundtracks of  Putyamo Presents ‘Amari Szi, Amari’ is an up-tempo flirty gypsy-tango pop of strings, catchy beats and peppy melodies. You may stumble upon this song playing in rustic beach-bars around the country. Upload it to your Ipod to revive your mental energy at the tail end of a road trip.

Leggo Mi Dub – Los Cafres

Chill out and sway with sweetness to this Argentinian reggae soul soothing tune. Combining electronic beats with fresh melodic sounds is the perfect way to accompany a mile-high cocktail on the plane or harmonize with a few road beers (as long as your not the driver )

There are plenty of travel-worthy songs to keep your mind entertained and musically blazed while on the road.
