Today is a HUGE milestone for us here at Go! Girl Guides: It’s our 1,000th post!!
When I started Go! Girl Guides four years ago, I envisioned a resource that would help to empower women to travel the world, through guidebooks and online content. I wanted to build a community here, with writers from around the world, and I wanted to get other women traveling.
Since then we’ve sold over 10,000 guidebooks across the world. We’ve posted great, destination-and-women’s-based content that I’m so proud of, every single day, and we’ve started something new and exciting: The Women’s Travel Fest.
The Women’s Travel Fest is an amazing consumer travel event that inspires and empowers women to travel the world, with help from speakers like Samantha Brown, Sarah Shourd, Laura Ling, Patricia Schultz & Felicity Aston.
We’ve built a tribe here, and today, we’re poppin’ open the champagne. Here’s a look back at some of our most popular posts:
This post has drawn SO many comments from women who are searching for answers when their bodies go haywire after traveling. We love how open you all have been, and we love being able to be a resource for you. The long and short of it is that sometimes traveling throws your cycle completely off kilter. Late on your period after traveling? Don’t stress!

Having a UTI sucks at home, but it can be torture while you’re traveling. So what can you do to ensure this doesn’t happen to you? Read this helpful post on how to prevent and treat urinary tract infections while traveling.
Our most popular guidebook: Mexico
Author: Ellen Guill
We LOVE Mexico. It’s one of our favorite countries, and a place we always return to. But Mexico has it’s share of problems, and for a solo female traveler, there are areas to avoid and things to know. Not surprisingly then, Mexico is one of our most popular guidebooks, with over 5,000 guidebooks sold. Need a copy? Head over to our store to pick one up!
THANK YOU! for supporting us along the way. We love reading your comments, interacting with you on social media, and taking your advice.
