Your Adventure Checklist in the Bahamas


Whether you’re with friends, family, or on your honeymoon, there’s plenty to do in the Bahamas. Understandably, there’s so much to do that it’s probably overwhelming to decide. If you’re new to the Bahamas, then here are some tips and suggestions to help you get started.

You next want to decide which island you want to visit. The Bahamas has around 700 unique islands. Even though some areas were tragically hit by Hurricane Dorian, there are still places like Nassau you can check out and explore.

It’s recommended that first-time visitors go to Nassau, as there are a plethora of different activities to do. Once you’ve tried a lot of things, you’ll have a better idea of what you want to do the next time you visit the Bahamas. You may even consider doing certain activities for this vacation and saving some others for the next visit.

Though one place can have a lot to do, visit the other islands for a real adventure. You may be surprised at what you find, such as inspiring scenery and fascinating history. There are too many islands to visit in one trip, so be sure to figure out which ones you’ll check out for your vacation.

Things to Do While in the Bahamas


On land, there are activities like biking, hiking, and walking along the white-sanded beaches. You can have fun on the water with parasailing, fishing, and boating.


There are not only activities on top of the water but underneath, as well. You can participate in scuba or deep-sea diving to meet the various marine life. Visit the famous swimming pigs and learn about the mysteries surrounding their origin.

Besides major holidays like Christmas, you can look forward to special happenings going on around the Bahamas. Be sure to check what festivals and events are taking place during your visit so you can check them out when you get there. It’s a great way to experience Bahamian culture while having lots of fun.

There are water parks, reserves, and many other places each with a ton of unique things to do. Paradise Island is a great destination for families as there’s a lot to keep the kids busy. Don’t forget to check out the beaches, some of which have been described as the best in the world.

You will find there to be plenty of lovely hotels across the islands. You can stay at a resort where there is a lot to do or a hotel near key destinations. If you want to go more exclusive, then there are plenty of Bahamas luxury villas for rent with beautiful scenery.

Tourist Attractions

One place to visit is Atlantis Paradise Island with its Aquaventure water park. There’s a giant slide that’s about five stories high and lands you in a place where you can meet some friendly sharks. There are also other popular islands, like Nassau and Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, that have plenty to do and see.

Hidden Gems

If you’re a first-time traveler to the Bahamas, then you could visit one of the multiple hidden gems here to further enrich your experience. There are places like Cat Island, Andros Island, and Eleuthera you can check out if you decide to go island hopping. These areas can awaken the adventurous side of you with their legends, history, and unique destinations.

Hurricane Dorian was a devastating time for many people, but you can help. The hurricane hit the Abacos Islands and Grand Bahama, but you can still stay and visit other islands like Nassau. One of the best things to do to help with disaster relief is to simply visit.
